SCIP - The Safe Communities Incentive Program
With the Safe Communities Incentive Program, small businesses can receive a 5% rebate on your WSIB insurance premiums while improving your Health & Safety program and performance. While participating in SCIP your firm remains in its regular WSIB incentive program. (NEER, MAP or CAD-7). The SCIP program promotes workplace safety and can reduce WSIB costs.
How does it work? Under the program, a senior manager or owner completes a 12-14 hour Health & Safety course including certain simple requirements such as creating a company Health & Safety Policy. Complete all requirements and you will receive a 5% rebate on your WSIB insurance premiums. A rebate is possible in the second year of the program as well.

Due Diligence

WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Inspection System)
Participants are taught legislation on WHMIS as it relates to the workplace and will learn:
• How to recognize and safely handle hazardous materials in the workplace
• Steps employees can take to protect themselves
• Each participant will receive a wallet-size certificate

Fall Prevention*
CSAO training which provides basic knowledge for personnel who are required to work at heights in areas where they may be exposed to fall hazards. This workshop is designed to provide the participants with an understanding of fall hazards and identifies fall protection controls including fall prevention and fall arrest.
*This course meets the requirements of the Ontario Ministry of Labour guidelines and the Occupational Health and Safety legislation.

Emergency Response Planning for the Workplace
This course will introduce you to the principles of Emergency Response Planning and provide an opportunity to get started on building an effective plan.
